University Students
In addition to their studies and other responsibilities, CdA’s university students are in charge of creating and maintaining their own community development projects. We at CdA are so proud of the work they do.
High School Students
In addition to their studies and other responsibilities, CdA’s high school scholarship recipients also participate in community development projects. Annually, they all work together to work with the Department of Health in four clinics and campaigns. The first is clinic for children and the second for pregnant mothers. They facilitate appointments with the doctors, fill in paperwork for illiterate patients, measure heights and weights, and deliver prescriptions. Their first campaign of the year is to vaccinate all the dogs and cats of the community. They fill out identification paperwork for the animals (for pet’s family) and give general recommendations for taking care of pets. Their second campaign is abatización of families’ water supplies. This is the process of placing abate, a funny smelling powder that comes in small bags, which you poke holes in with a pen or small sharp object, and stick in the pila (washing basin) to keep the mosquito larvae from growing.
